If you received a bill for a property that you no longer own, please bring or send it back to our office so that we can get it to the new property owner. The first half taxes are due by September 30th, 2004. You may come into our office to pay them at our counter or drop them in the dropbox located just outside of our office. If paying by mail, be sure to have them postmarked no later than September 30th, 2004. You may also pay them online at www.iowatreasurers.org. You may pay them by cash, check or Discover Card at counter or by mail. When paying online, you may use a e-check and have the money taken from your checking or savings account for a $2.00 fee or you may use a credit card for a small service fee. No matter what method you chose to pay by, please remember to bring in the stubs that are located at the top of your tax statements. This will make the process quicker for you and assure that the payment is posted to the correct parcel. Remember that the taxpayer is responsible to make sure that they have paid every parcel that they own.
We ask for your patience during tax collection month. As the counter and phone will be busier at this time. You may get our voicemail during the day when trying to reach us by phone. Please feel free to leave your name & number and we'll be happy to call you back as soon as we can.
The Drivers License Examiner's schedule has been full the last few weeks. If you have a scheduled appointment for a drive test that you are not going to be able to keep or no longer need, please be courteous and call so that we may use the time slot for someone else.
