Boats in Iowa all need to renew by April 30, 2005. All boats must be current before they can be transferred to a new owner.
A new format will be offered for the Spring Hunter Course. Participants can log onto the DNR website and take the classroom course with the shooting part held April 23 at the Three Mile Lake Lodge. Participants will need to complete each quiz, get 100% correct and bring a printed copy to the shooting event. There will be a pre-test given on the 23rd before the shooting section. If this system proves workable, State Conservation Officer Marc Roberg will offer additional Hunter Safety Courses. Log onto www.iowadnr.com and go to the Education Heading. The Auditor’s Office is working on implementing the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). On April 13 Matt Parrott, Inc. and on April 14 ES&S will demonstrate their company’s new election equipment at 1:00 p.m. in the Courtroom of the Courthouse.

Property taxes were due without penalty by March 31, 2005. A 1 1/2 percent per month penalty is now due on any unpaid taxes. Delinquent notices will be going on April 30th. Taxpayers will have until May 27th, 2005 to pay your taxes to avoid publication in the tax sale list. The tax sale will be June 20th, 2005. You may pay delinquent taxes online at www.iowatreasurers.org.
Reminder: There is a handicap parking place in the alley behind the courthouse. You have direct access to the elevator in the Law Enforcement Center from the back entrance.
If you want to pay your car registrations online at www.getyourtags.com www.getyourtags.com, you must have received a renewal notice from us that includes a PIN number. Only current registrations may be paid online. Delinquent payments must come through our office.
