The new tax statements for fiscal year 2007-08 will be mailed out towards the end of the month. The Auditor’s office is currently working on getting the information entered into the computer so the statements can be run. Once we receive the statements, it will take us about two weeks to get them all out in the mail. The first half tax is due by September 30th. Don’t forget that you can pay them online at www.iowatreasurers.org using either a credit card or having it withdrawn from a checking or savings account. Be sure to check your statements to make sure that you have received one for each property that you own and also that all your credits, such as homestead and military, have been applied. If you should receive a statement for a property that you no longer own, please return it to us so that we can check into it and get it mailed to the correct owner. Each statement will have two stubs attached at the top. Be sure to return the correct stub with each payment.
